More outreach, more content, more campaigns. If no stage has an owner, more activity produces more unowned activity and the cost rises without the outcome.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The diagnostic question is not what are we doing. It is who owns the moment a prospect moves from stage two to stage three, and what happens if they do not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why it happens, five levels down<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Pipeline is weak despite visible effort.<\/strong>Why? Work is uncoordinated across roles.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Handoffs are informal.<\/strong>Why? Stages were never defined.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>No one defined the stages.<\/strong>Why? The motion grew rather than being designed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>It grew because early sales were founder-led.<\/strong>Why? What one person holds in their head does not need documenting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The process still lives in one person&#8217;s head.<\/strong>Root cause. It cannot scale, delegate or be measured until it is written down.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The diagnostic<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Run this before planning any work. It tells you whether this is your constraint or whether something else is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Ask three people to describe the sales process separately. The differences are the finding.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Write down who owns each stage. Any gap is where deals stall.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check whether stage definitions are written anywhere.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Confirm each stage has an exit criterion, not just a name.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check whether anyone reviews stalled deals and why they stalled.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ask what happens to a lead nobody picks up.
